Next Steps

Wherever you are in your faith journey, we believe there's a next step waiting for you. Each week, we extend a heartfelt invitation for you to respond to what God may be stirring in your heart. Whether you're ready to follow Jesus for the first time or looking to reconnect, we’re here to walk with you.

There are four invitations we offer. Take a look and see where God might be leading you.

1. Salvation

Start a relationship with Jesus.

This is where new life begins. Saying "yes" to Jesus means accepting Him as your Lord and Savior and trusting Him to forgive your sins and guide your life. The Bible puts it this way:

ā€œIf you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.ā€ – Romans 10:9 (NKJV)

When you're saved, you're welcomed into the family of God—and that changes everything. If you're ready to take this life-changing step, [watch this video] and follow the instructions. Then click the button at the bottom of this page to let us know. We’d love to celebrate with you and help you grow.

2. Rededication

Come back home.

Maybe you've already accepted Christ, but life happened—and somewhere along the way, you drifted. You’re not alone. God’s arms are still open, and it’s never too late to return to Him.

ā€œIf we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.ā€ – 1 John 1:9 (NKJV)

Rededication is simply saying, "God, I want to get back on track." It’s a fresh start and a recommitment to walk closely with Him. If that’s where you are right now, we’re here to support you as you realign your heart and life with God's purpose.

3. Assurance

Be sure about your salvation.

If you're wondering, ā€œAm I really saved?ā€ — you’re not alone. It’s okay to have questions, and we want to help you find clarity and peace.

ā€œThese things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal lifeā€¦ā€ – 1 John 5:13 (NKJV)

Assurance means having confidence in your salvation—not because of feelings or opinions, but because of God's promises in His Word. As you stay connected through worship, Bible study, and prayer, your faith will grow stronger, and your doubts will grow smaller.

4. CHURCH MEMBERSHIP

Find your place.

Looking for a church home? We’d love to welcome you to First Baptist Church of Glenarden, whether you live near our Maryland campus or want to be part of our online family.

Becoming a member means more than just joining a church—it means becoming part of a community that grows, serves, and worships together. You can join based on your Christian experience, a desire to be baptized, or simply because you feel led to connect here.

ā€œ...not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another...ā€ – Hebrews 10:25 (NKJV)
